30 Hours Extended Childcare
From September 2018 we will be offering the new 30 hours extended childcare entitlement at John Clifford School. This is a new entitlement for working parents of 3 and 4 year old children which was introduced in September 2017. It is an additional 15 hours per week entitlement to the existing 15 hours free early education place.
We will still be offering the current 15 hours per week entitlement alongside the new 30 hours entitlement.
You are eligible if:
· both parents are working (or the sole parent in a lone-parent family) and both earn a weekly minimum equivalent to 16 hours at the minimum wage (for under 25-year-olds) or national living wage (if over 25-years-old) and less than £100,000 per annum (this includes employed, self-employed and zero hours contracts).
How do I apply?
The childcare website offers a simple questionnaire to find out if they recommend you should apply or not. It also shows you what you may be eligible for https://www.childcarechoices.gov.uk
Session times will remain the same with an added Lunch Club session
Morning Session – 8.50am-11.50am
Lunch Club – 11.50am-12.25pm (Packed Lunch Only)
Afternoon Session – 12.25pm-3.25pm
There will be a small charge of £3.50 per day for Lunch Club as this is not included in the funding we receive for providing 30 hours childcare entitlement. Payment for this can be made via the School Gateway app.
If you would like to take up the offer of a 30 hours place at John Clifford, please ensure you hand in your childs date of birth, 30 hours eligibility code and your national insurance number into the office.
