Thank you to everyone who came along and supported our Fireworks Night on 2nd November. Hope you enjoyed it! Many thanks to all the staff and volunteers and well done to everyone who brought along a pumpkin. Didn't they look great?
The event raised more than £1,000 which will be used to fund equipment and exciting activities for the children - fantastic!
We had a great turnout for our coffee and cake morning on 29th September and it was lovely to get to know some parents whose children are new to the school. Look out for more coffee mornings throughout the school year!
What a great morning we had on Sunday 24th September. 50 children from our school, as well as numerous parents, grandparents, teachers and friends, arrived at a lovely sunny Victoria Embankment to take part in this massive Nottingham event. Well done everybody!
Thank you to everyone who came along to our Spring Fair. We all had a great time despite the interesting weather!
Thanks for all the donations of cakes too.
Our final fundraising total was £1,200 - fantastic!

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I become a member of Friends?
As a parent of a pupil who attends John Clifford you are automatically a member. If you'd like to get more involved at any level, then either come along to one of our regular meetings, or sign up to our email newsletter.
How are funds raised?
We hold a number of events throughout the year including school discos, a fireworks event, a school fair and a family fundraising evening.
How can I become involved with Friends?
Everyone is welcome to come along to any of the Friends meetings. These are usually held at least once every half term usually in the early evening. They are currently held at school, in the staff room. If childcare is a problem you can bring your children along and they will be able to play in the hall while the meeting takes place. There is no commitment to coming to every meeting.
I do not want to come to the meetings but would still like to help. Is there anything else I can do to become involved?
It's really easy. Just send us an email and join our register of helpers to receive our regular email updates.
What is the register of helpers?
We know that it can be tricky to commit to helping out on a regular basis. But by keeping in touch through our newsletters, you can keep in touch and offer to help without having to commit to meetings.
What kind of help could I give?
We need a wide range of help. There is usually something to suit everybody but the main areas are: -
Planning, advertising and organising events (usually discussed at Friends meetings)
Setting up events – setting up stalls, shopping for refreshments, prizes etc
Running events – running a stall, serving refreshments
Clearing away after events
How will I be able to help as I work during the day?
We need a range of helpers who are available at different times of the day either before school, during the school day, immediately after school, or in the evenings. It is a great way for those parents who aren’t available to help during the day to become involved in your child’s school.
What if I register as a helper and find I have other commitments when I am asked to help at an event?
Friends would contact volunteers in advance of any event to make sure they were available and willing to help. We understand that everyone has other commitments.
How many times would I be asked to help?
The more helpers on the register, the fewer occasions each volunteer will be asked to help!
How do I keep up to date with Friends meetings and events?
Our events will be included in school newsletters, on our facebook page and we have our own section on the school website www.johncliffordschool.com here!
