13-04-2020 tasks.

We hope you  enjoyed the sun and had a good Easter. Here are a few new tasks to try. 

  1.  Play bingo- make your own board by choosing 6/8/10 numbers. Use playing cards /raffle ticket/or write your own numbers to call out.
  2. Make a hand washing chart- have hourly slots ( 9am/10am/11am etc) draw a smiley face in each space as you wash your hands. count up how many times a day you have washed your hands. Remind other people to wash their hands too.
  3.  Write a list of things you have done or want to do. You could write a menu for breakfast/lunch/tea.
  4.  Make a mask/costume and act out a short story. (Post a picture on the CLASS BLOG for us all to see).
  5.  Make a fantasy building/tower/castle/space station from lego or construction blocks
  6. Look at different coins and count them in 1p's, 2p's 5p's and 10p's. Add some coins together to 20p. How many ways can you make 10p or 20p?
  7. Practise telling the time using O'clock and Half Past.
  8.  Make your own obstacle course outside ( or use tape on the floor indoors- use zig zag patterns, jumping areas, toe to toe walking lines, rolling area, limbo under something, hop scotch.
  9. Have a go at this competition- write a short story about a bus journey. Draw pictures and make it bright. Use interesting words. eg- magical, surprised, astonished, incredible, fantastic, thrilling, pleasant, experience, adventure, eventful, memorable, expedition, exciting, mysterious.. Good luck.x

Nottingham City Transport are running a 'Short Story Writing Competition'. See below for details on how to enter!

 

 

Categories

Buster's back with a short story writing competition for kids and adults of all ages.

There are five age categories and we'll publish a bus themed story book full of our favourites for charity this autumn.

All you have to do is write an original short story, under one of the following five categories:

5-7 Year Olds

Write a short story about a bus journey to somewhere magical. Max 300 words. You can draw your story using 6-12 pictures.

8-10 Year Olds

Write a short story about seeing a mythical animal through the bus window. Max 500 words.

11-13 Year Olds

Write a short adventure story that includes a bus journey. Max 1000 words.

14-17 Year Olds

Write a short story in any genre that contains the sentence `I was so surprised to see….’ and includes a bus journey. Max 1000 words.

Adults 18+

Write a short story or poem about meeting your idol on a bus journey.

Send us your short story or poem before 30th June 2020.
