Welcome to F2's information page.
What we are learning this half term?
Our topic this half term is All about me!
We will be exploring ourselves, our families and our homes. We will be exploring what makes us unique, our likes and dislikes and feelings.
In Maths, we will be learning about numbers to 10, shapes and we will be doing sorting.
We will be using a variety of key texts both fiction and non-fiction and poems.
In English, we will be learning to write our names using the correct formation.
We believe that a love of reading is crucial to open doors for our children at John Clifford and we partner with parents and carers to give children the best start to their reading journey. Books are at the heart of our curriculum in The Foundation Unit and children will be heard read and read to several times throughout the week.
Our expectation is that children will read at home x3+ a week with a parent/carer. This is recorded in the children’s planner. Regular reading will be rewarded with class praise and bronze, silver and GOLD cards.
Children will take home x1 school reading book which they have been reading in school and they should be able to read independently.
