To prepare you for the texts ahead, there are some words you will need to know and understand. Please look at this list of words and try and find out what they mean. Write a definition for each one.

WALT: Take notes from a text

 

Children, for us to understand the different viewpoints, we need to read a little about them first of all. We need to know who thought the Aswan Dam was a good thing, who thought it was a bad thing and who had mixed opinions about them.

 

Please, read the documents below (choose the level that seems right for you, or try them all even. The first one will be familiar if you read yesterday's lesson) and take notes about what you read. You should end up with some idea of what opinions each group had.

 

Once you have done that, we would like you to start creating your own opinions- was the dam a good thing?
