Welcome to F2's information page.
What we are learning this half term.
Our topic this half term is Up, Up and away.
We will be exploring travel and holiday destinations. We will be exploring different ways we travel- Hot air balloons, planes, helicopters, sailing, boats, ships and wheeled transport.
We will explore places in the UK and abroad, looking at similarities and differences.
We will be using a variety of key texts both fiction and non-fiction and poems.
We believe that a love of reading is crucial to open doors for our children at John Clifford and we partner with parents and carers to give children the best start to their reading journey. Books are at the heart of our curriculum in The Foundation Unit and children will be heard read and read to several times throughout the week.
Our expectation is that children will read at home x3+ a week with a parent/carer. This is recorded in the children’s planner. Regular reading will be rewarded with class praise and bronze, silver and GOLD cards.
Children will take home x1 school reading book which they have been reading in school and they should be able to read independently.
