WALT: Use a map to plan a journey

In Geography, we have been learning how to use and read a map. We have learnt about keys, symbols, finding locations, locations on a compass and using various types of map.

In today's lesson you are going to plan a tour. Imagine that you are bringing your favourite toy to school, you are going to show your favourite toy all of the places around school using a map.

To plan for this tour you need to pick the order that you are going to take your favourite toy around school and remember your favourite toy may not know what each location is, so you need to explain.

Use the map of our school below and plot numbers 1- 6 in different places

Where will you go in stop number 1?

Where will you go in stop number 2?

Where will you go in stop number 3?

Where will you go in stop number 4?

Where will you go in stop number 5?

Where will you go in stop number 6?

What important information will you give to your favourite toy?

Draw the path that you are going to take on your map and then write about the journey you will take.
