We have been working hard this term on correct letter formation. We will be moving on to joining our letters very soon but we still have work to do on starting and finishing all letters in the correct place, sitting letters on the line and making them the correct size with ascenders and descenders (sticks and tails) in the right place. We are also working on spacing between words. We use the term letter spacing so that the children know that the space between the words or letter patterns should be the same size as one of their letters not a great big finger space gap that looks a bit odd compared to the rest of their writing.
We are giving you several sets of sheets to print out if you can or you can practice your letters on a piece of lined paper.
Please use a pencil to write with and remember to sit in the correct position.
You should also do your finger exercises before you start.
