Next week (8-12 June 2015) is John Clifford School’s Activate Week. The week will be based around promoting a healthy lifestyle and encouraging both children and adults to get active.
We have challenged the children to record how active they and their families can be for a whole week (see reverse for an example of the recording sheet your child will be provided with). The children will be involved in a variety of sporting activities throughout the week including school sports days, tennis workshops at the Nottingham Tennis Centre and cricket festivals at Attenborough CC. See below for full a timetable of the week’s activities.
In addition to the sports days and trips out of school, Year 6 children will be running lunchtime competitions to help promote physical activity. These will include skipping challenges, long jump and high jump competitions and hula-hoop contests.
On Friday 12th June, various local sports clubs and fitness centres will be recruiting new members at the end of the school day, including Broxtowe FC, Warrior Jujitsu and PureGym Beeston.
