This week we should have been continuing to explore and learn in our outdoor area. It's an incredible time of year with the leaves changing colour and some native animals preparing for the winter period.
I would encourage you to get out into some open spaces and woodland over the next few weeks and see for yourself how our environment is changing for a new season.
The links below have lots of amazing activities for you to have a go at which I know you will enjoy doing. Go get muddy!
We have been making some fantastic progress with our throwing and catching this half term so here are some additional activities that you can have a go at in the garden or park.
Throwing and catching skills are an important component of many ball games and activities.
Here are some ball skill activities for you to try:
- Scrunch a scarf up into a ball shape. On the count of three, they throw it up in the air and try to catch it.
- Drop a feather from a height and catch it as it flutters down to the ground.
- Make a small ball to of newspaper. Line up empty bottles and try to knock them over by throwing the ball.
- Practise throwing and catching bean bags. They do not roll and travel as far as other objects.
