Week Commencing 6.4.2020 & 13.4.2020 - Easter Holidays

Work to do at home this week

WC: 6.4.2020 and 13.4.2020

This week, we have put together some Easter themed activities for you to do as well as an optional Easter Story Reading Comprehension task. You can choose any of the activities from the page. For those of you who have access to a printer at home, we have uploaded some colouring pages. If you don't have a printer at home then please don't worry! You can use these templates for some ideas for your own pictures.

We have left the links up for the online learning platforms for Phonics and Maths if you wish to access these during the break. We have also put together a 'Reading Challenge' for the Easter Break.

We hope that you all have a lovely Easter break, stay safe, be happy, be kind and caring to families and remember to use the Class Blogs to let us know what you have been up to, we can't wait to see how busy you've been!

'Be kind and caring' and 'Take care of myself and others'

You may have seen the story about Tom Moore on the news. He is a 99-year-old army veteran who wanted to raise money for the NHS to support them during this time. He set himself the challenge of walking 100 laps of his garden by his 100th birthday on the 30th April. So far, Tom has raised £5million for the NHS through his challenge.

Lots of people around the country want to wish him a happy birthday and also congratulate him on his amazing challenge! They are sending him both real and virtual birthday cards and we thought it might be nice if we joined in too!

You can upload a picture of your card for Tom using the hashtag '#makeacardfortom' on social media platforms or you can send a card to Tom's house using the following address;

Easter Activities!
Here is a PowerPoint explaining why we celebrate Easter. Maybe you could write about why we celebrate Easter in your Learning at Home books.

We have our very own Hen's at school, Miss Sparkles, Skippy and Sir Paul McCartney. They have been enjoying their time at school and taking advantage of a quiet playground, maybe they want to climb up JC Towers! Maybe you could draw a picture of them exploring the playground.

Below is a PowerPoint explaining the life cycle of a hen.

Here are some 'Stay at Home' colouring pages you could print off and colour in or use as inspiration for your own!

Here are some Easter Egg Design sheets and an Easter themed dot to dot for you to complete
We have enjoyed spending some of our time at home baking!
Here are some Easter themed recipes that you could use at home with your families.

This year, we sadly had to cancel our Easter Bonnet Parade due to the school closure.

We thought it would be a nice idea to have a Virtual Easter Bonnet Parade. If you have made or would like to make an Easter bonnet with items from around your home then please do and take a picture or record yourselves on the catwalk and add it to the class blog!

See you on the catwalk!
