Something to keep you going...

Something to keep you going... 1

Hi everybody. Well done for completing your work this week. We will be setting you some new fun activities to complete at home. They will be available for you to use on Monday at 10 am.

Work to do at home this week

WC: 23.3.20

This week, we would like you to work through the activities below for each of the subjects. You can use the activities on the screen or download and print them out. We will add new pieces of work for you to do throughout the week. Keep your work or any notes that you make together so that you can bring them into school with you.

Please continue to read a range of books either from your school collection or books that you have available at home. You can also read books online. Some of the free websites available that you can use are below. You will need to ask your parent to sign you up for these websites so that you can access the texts.

If you also go to the reading page of our website you will find lots of links and suggestions of great books to read.

David Walliams is streaming a free audio book each day for you to enjoy.

Please complete the reading tasks below. For some of the activities you may need to use your workbook or some paper. You may need to read these with an adult and then answer the questions independently.

Year 1 & 2 common exception words: practise reading these, can you think of an action for each word?

Minibeasts Guided Reading

As we have been practising our suffixes, use these activities to help you  practise.

We have really enjoyed reading your creative stories this year so would like to see if you can write your own.  Below is a link to make some story cubes.  These cubes, when rolled, will allow your imagination to run wild.  Use them to create and write some short stories remembering to include some challenging adjectives to bring the story to life.

This week we would like to practise your timetables and to revisit addition and subtraction.

Below are lots of practical and printable times tables games which you can play at home. We have also made sure that you have lots of times tables to practise on the TT Rockstars webpage. Remember that your username and password are in your communication diaries.

If you feel like a tricky challenge try these ...

As we have come to the end of your plants topic use the quizzes below to check how much you know.

What mini-beasts live in your garden?  Use this guide to go hunting for these amazing creatures that live on our doorstep.

You have all made amazing progress with your basketball so please see if you can continue to get some practice in at home.

Practice your different passes including chest passes and bounce passes.  Some of you will be able to dribble around your garden!  Remember to see if you can get somebody to help with your catching too.
