Happy Summer!

It has reached the time to say goodbye for a little while! How quickly has this year gone?

We just wanted to say a big thank you to you all for your tremendous efforts, commitment and positivity during this challenging time. You have been a credit to JC in the way that you have faced every challenge. You have worked extremely hard and you have made us very proud.

We have been very impressed by your enthusiasm on our school blog and we have thoroughly enjoyed seeing all of your hard work every day. During the summer, the blog will remain active however your teachers will not be monitoring your messages as they have been previously. At the end of summer, your teachers will catch up with your posts. As well as this, the stay in touch email will be inactive so you will be unable to send emails to that address.

Take the time during summer to reflect on your achievements this year, to enjoy yourself and to take care of your loved ones.

Have a great summer and see you soon!

The Home Learning Team

Calling all JC wannabe Superheros!!!

Can you scoot?   Or hop?  Or run?  Or climb the stairs?  Or sing?  Or make your bed?   Then we need you!

The Friends of John Clifford are calling all JC Superheroes to help us in our Giant JC Superhero Challenge.   Our super important mission is to raise as much money as we can to restore the outdoor learning area and to provide new books and games for the classrooms damaged by the flooding.

What’s more for every fundraising target that we hit a member of staff will go under an ice bucket and record it for us.     Mr Gooch is first up and when we hit £250 he will go under an ice bucket … Mrs Waring needs a bit more persuading so we need to raise a bit more if we want to see Mrs Waring get iced!

Like many residents and businesses in Beeston, John Clifford School fell victim to the heavy rain on 17th June.  The damage was extensive.   We know that many of you are keen to help and so we would love to encourage all the JC family to pick a challenge and get sponsored for it.

Your challenge could be:

Climbing the stairs multiple times

A scoot-a- thon

A roller skate-a-thon

A mini marathon run or walk

A trampolining challenge

A skip-a-thon

Making your own lunch for a week

Making your bed for a week

Hundreds of laps of your garden

Giving up your Nintendo Switch for a week (ok maybe just a day)

You can choose any challenge you fancy.    You then need to get sponsorship and within the next few days details of our Just Giving page will be shared via social media and through school.

We’d love it if you could wear something a superhero might wear (a cape, a mask etc) when you do your challenge and perhaps you could take a photo  and upload it to your class home learning blog.

So all  JC Superheroes get thinking … what could you do as part of our Giant JC Superhero Challenge?

Hi Year 4!

Just a little message to explain what is staying on the Year 4 page for you. Below this message you will find a 'Reflection Rainbow' where we have uploaded a selection of activities for you to reflect on the school year that has passed and to think about the school year that is to come. Next to that is a sun which holds a selection of summer activities for you to have a go at should you wish to try any of these over the summer holidays.

All the work from this half term is staying up for now too in case you want to drop in and pick anything up.

Teachers wont be checking the blog until the end of the summer holidays but please keep posting if you would like too, it'll be a nice treat for us at the end of the holidays to see what you have been up too laugh

We hope you have amazing summers filled with lots of enjoyable things and that, most imporatntly, you keep safe, happy and healthy! Miss Shah and I look forward to seeing you for the first 3 days back at school before you transition into your new classes!

Much Love,

Mrs Allcoat and Miss Shah heart

Daily Schedule

We have had some queries about how much work you should be trying to do at home during the lockdown.  We understand that families will be facing a range of different challenges and find themselves in very different situations.  Whilst we do not want to specify exactly what your daily routine at home must look like, below is a document which shows a suggested structure for your home learning.  Please note that this is only a suggested model and that we understand that each individual family must chose their own daily routines to fit in with their unique situations.  We hope that this is helpful to some of you.
